Campus-wide connectivity for a senior high school, combining satellite internet, point-to-point wireless distribution and centrally managed Wi-Fi across classroom blocks, laboratories and staff areas.
A large school campus spreads its users across many buildings - classroom blocks, computer laboratories, administration and staff areas. Getting a reliable connection to all of them usually means trenching fibre between buildings, which is slow, disruptive and expensive.
The network also has to serve very different groups - staff, students and laboratories - without one group's traffic degrading everyone else's.
We designed the network in layers: a satellite uplink for internet access, a core router to control it, and point-to-point wireless links to carry connectivity between buildings instead of buried cable.
At each building, managed access points deliver Wi-Fi, and the network is segmented so that different groups of users are kept on separate networks and managed from one place.
Starlink provides the internet uplink into a MikroTik core router. Point-to-point wireless links distribute connectivity across the campus to the individual blocks, where Ruijie managed access points provide Wi-Fi. VLAN segmentation separates user groups, and the access layer is managed centrally rather than device by device.

The resulting network brings internet access across the campus from a single managed core, with buildings linked wirelessly and user groups separated - an approach that can be extended block by block as the school's needs grow.
